For the first half of the school, each DTS participates in shared lectures with a range of topics from speakers from around the world.
The Missions DTS has weekly break-out sessions as well as a weeklong intensive set aside to give you the chance to hear from and talk to missionaries who have been on the field. You will be able to hear some of their stories, as well as ask them questions about their experiences. You will also receive teaching on the Biblical foundation for missions, different expressions of missions, and where the gospel has yet to be shared. You will learn about the many roles necessary to bring the gospel of God to every people group on earth and how you can engage in this incredible privilege today. With the Missions DTS you will have the opportunity for a variety of field trips and teachings that will explore important mission topics such as community development, refugees and immigration, world religions, Business as Mission, and cross-cultural communication..
Finally, each DTS comes together and prayerfully splits up into teams to be then sent to the nations. Students spend the remaining months overseas reflecting Jesus’ call to ‘GO’. In teams across the 10/40 window students are given the opportunity to explore and apply all they learned in the lecture phase. It’s a great opportunity to begin implementing and further exploring the gifts God has given you.
