the need

Why are there still so many tongues and tribes who have never heard the Gospel? Many of these people are simply hard to get to. Although missionaries have been boldly engaging the least reached around the world, for 2000 years the Gospel has been blocked, in some regions, by geography.

the vision

This school’s vision is to equip missionaries with the essential skill sets necessary to physically reach remote or difficult-to-access people groups. The Remote Access Module (RAM) provides this training and experience with the goal of making disciples of remote and unreached people, wherever they are.

the training phase

The 'Core' module (3-month training phase) offers the basic skills necessary for accessing remote areas. Each skill set will be learned in the classroom, developed on day-trips, and combined for real-world practice during multi-day trips to gain competence and experience.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Navigation
  • Equipment selection, use, and maintenance
  • Wilderness self-care (proper clothing, nutrition, hydration, physical/mental/spiritual/emotion well-being)
  • Campcraft (site selection, shelter, stove usage, environmental management, etc)
  • Students will graduate with nationally recognized Wilderness First Responder medical certification

Go Equipped

the outreach phase

There is an optional outreach to a geographically remote unreached people group. This is an opportunity to use the skills developed to make disciples in a real world setting.

frequently asked questions

Does this school stand alone?

This training does not replace the SOFM, SOSM or any other school designed to train and send long-term missionaries among the unreached. It is designed to augment these excellent schools. The modular design of this training will enable people to efficiently acquire the specific skills and experience they need to access the particular geographical region they have in mind, without spending time on unneeded skills. This school is for field-bound long-term missionaries looking to work among remote/difficult to access unreached people groups.

What if I don’t plan to go overseas?

This is not the school for you. It is designed to equip missionaries who are serious about reaching difficult-to-access people groups.

Can my family take this training?

Yes! If your whole family will be involved in missions, your whole family needs training.

What if I have no wilderness experience?

No problem! This course is designed to give you the experience you need.

Coming Soon

More specialized training for specific geographical environments can be found in the 'Mountain' 'Desert', and ‘4x4’ (special vehicle access) modules being developed.

meet the leaders

As certified professional mountain and wilderness guides, we have extensive training and experience taking individuals and groups into a variety of terrains and conditions internationally. 15 years of experience as long-term missionaries living and working among unreached people groups in a geographically diverse Muslim nation has given us opportunities to hone these skills, to share the Gospel, and to make Disciples.
