the need

Something we have been asking for years is, “Why  are there still so many tongues and tribes who have never heard the Gospel?” And the answer is simple: many of these people are impossible to get to without proper training, equipment and preparation. Although missionaries have been boldly engaging the least reached around the world for thousands of years, there is still an huge, unmet need for this to take place in remote locations.  For 2000 years the Gospel has been blocked, in some regions, simply by geography. There is a real need for those who will reach the most unreached places, to properly prepare, and attain the knowledge and experience necessary to bring the gospel to those who have no access to it. All the while maintaining good mental, emotional, and physical health, in order to build and sustain ministry in austere environments.

the vision

This school’s vision is to equip long term, field bound missionaries with the essential skill sets needed to physically reach remote or difficult-to-access people groups. All with the goal of making disciples of unreached people, despite their geography. We feel we are called to reach these people and reach them effectively. This can only be done through proper preparation, acquiring new skill sets, and having a heart to bring the Gospel to those who have never heard it before.

the training phase

The 'Core' module (3-month training phase) offers the basic skills necessary for accessing remote areas. Each skill set will be learned in the classroom, developed through hands on practice, and combined for real-world application during multi-day trips to gain competence and experience.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Navigation
  • Clothing and footwear
  • Illumination
  • Fire/heat
  • Equipment transport & maintenance
  • nutrition
  • hydration

frequently asked questions

Does this school stand alone?

There is an optional outreach to a geographically remote unreached people group after the 3 month training phase. This is an opportunity to use the skills developed to make disciples in a real world setting. It is also a unique and incredible opportunity to trek into mountains, trail into deserts, take roads very few have taken before, to reach people who so desperately need the Gospel. To reach people no one has ever reached before.

What if I don’t plan to go overseas?

This is not the school for you. It is designed to equip missionaries who are serious about reaching difficult-to-access people groups.

Can my family take this training?

Yes! If your whole family will be involved in missions, your whole family needs training.

What if I have no wilderness experience?

No problem! This course is designed to give you the experience you need.

More specialized training for specific geographical environments can be found in the 'Mountain' 'Desert', and ‘4x4’ (special vehicle access) modules being developed.
