Grow in intimacy with the Lord and then carry His name to the least reached parts of the world.
A Discipleship Training School (DTS) is the foundational school in Youth with a Mission. For six months students radically experience God and are transformed through learning what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. They then put into practice what they have learned through an outreach to the least-reached people of the world (10/40 window).

DTS begins with 12 weeks of intensive discipleship on our campus in Colorado Springs. You and your classmates (every DTS focus comes together for lecture) will explore a range of topics taught by speakers from all around the world. Each week will take you deeper in your relationship with God, grow your life and character, and equip you for the adventure of making disciples in all nations.
Topics include:
Amazing things happen when we gather as a corporate body to worship God! You’ll have regular times of worship with your DTS as well as with the larger YWAM Colorado Springs community.
Connect with God’s heart for situations, nations and people groups as you and your DTS regularly pray and seek Him together.
Each student has a YWAM staff member they meet with regularly to further process what they’re learning, receive prayer and more.
Everyone, staff and student alike, lends a hand to keep our community functioning. This could include serving in the kitchen, working with maintenance or housekeeping, or helping with the communications team.
You’ll have a chance to meet with a smaller group from your DTS to discuss, process, encourage each other, and have fun.
Weekly journals and the occasional book report give you more opportunity to process and apply what you’re learning.
We regularly set aside time to serve the city of Colorado Springs. It’s a chance to love our local neighbors on the way to loving our global neighbors.
Colorado Springs is full of opportunities for adventure and fun. Whether it’s playing a game of football, hiking, rock climbing, getting into the downtown scene or kicking it by the pool, we love having fun together.
After your 12 week lecture phase, your DTS will head off in different teams for a three month outreach into the 10/40 window.
Students will show the love and hope of Christ through evangelism and mercy ministries because we want to care for people’s spiritual and physical needs the way Jesus did.
Some opportunities include: teaching English, working with orphans and widows, serving in refugee camps, anti-human/sex trafficking efforts, front-line worker support and more.
Your final week of DTS will be spent back in Colorado Springs, debriefing and getting ready for all God has next for you. Once you’ve finished DTS, you have an open door into further training and ministry within YWAM both in Colorado Springs and internationally. There are endless opportunities and we’d love to help you find your place in the story.
