Each DTS comes together for the official lecture times to hear a range of topics from speakers from all around the world. During other times we will be exploring the many adventurous outdoor opportunities that Colorado has to offer! We will be engaging with God while participating in physical activities such as rock climbing, mountain climbing, mountain biking, hiking, camping and many other awesome outdoor endeavors. We will be learning more about what it looks like to abide with God even in our passions. God gave us those passions so let’s learn how to invite Him into the adventures we love going on. Who says you can’t take the gospel to the trails? Who’s going to reach the people in the difficult mountain ranges of the world? Who will learn how to help a hurt person in the wilderness? Who will dare explore with the one who created it all? Let’s do it! Be ready for intense physical exercise, learning new ways to have fun outside, finding God in nature and exploring this beautiful earth He created.
Finally, each DTS comes together and prayerfully splits up into teams to be then sent to the nations. Students spend the remaining months overseas reflecting Jesus’ call to ‘GO’. In teams across the 10/40 window students are given the opportunity to explore and apply all they learned in the lecture phase. It’s a great opportunity to begin implementing and further exploring the gifts God has given you.
It’s not required but definitely recommended! Usually things can be found to borrow but your life will be a lot easier if you bring some of the stuff you have like sleeping bags, hiking shoes, a water filter, etc. A list of suggested gear to bring will be sent to you before you come.
Due to the many additional activities we have to charge more. This will go towards equipment rental, additional supplies, etc.
Hannah, aka Hanz, did her DTS in 2014. She has been working with DTS since then. With a passion for outdoor adventure, she spends most of her free time exploring, exercising, and being adventurous. She's straight out of Charlotte, North Carolina and is obsessed with giraffes. She wants to see students explore their passions to find a place for them in their calling.
