DTS WEEK 6: Holy Spirit

This week, our Fall DTS students had the honor and gift of learning about the Holy Spirit from Jessika Tate. Jessika Tate is an international speaker, missionary, and author who is passionate about inspiring people to fall deeply in love with Jesus and yield their lives fully to Him. She carries a deep reverence for the Holy Spirit as well and teaches others how to acknowledge how the Spirit moves and what it looks like to partner with the Spirit.

What we love about Jessika is she brings insight and wisdom about the Spirit to a level that is understood by all. She is honest, authentic, and fierce. She teaches with a simplicity, but compromises nothing when speaking on the more complex topics within Christianity. Our students learned about who the Holy Spirit is as part of the trinity, what it means to know the Holy Spirit, and how the Holy Spirit engages with us and the world today. Holy Spirit is our comforter, friend, guide, and brings conviction to us. Here are some of our favorite quotes from this week with Jessika!

“Repentance is the greatest gift to a believer. If you refuse to repent, you don’t have the grace to change.” // “You don’t need a comforter in your comfort zone.” // “There is a place in relationship with him that worship is not based on circumstances. Your devotion is not based off your emotions.” // “Holy spirit shouldn't have to interrupt, he should be the one leading.” // “Discipline is only legalism to the apathetic.”

The Holy Spirit is a close, dear friend that lives inside of us. It is crucial that we acknowledge the presence of the Spirit and the way he leads, encourages, and comforts us. Take a moment to tune into the inner voice of the Spirit and ask him what he wants you to know for today.
