The Heart of God - a poem on His character

oh, undignified soul

rest in the land of Goodness

the very plains, the beating heart

of Maker & Friend

there are streams

to be healed of pains

sowed by the whispers of religion

your garden can bloom again

it’s okay,

if all you can dip

is the tips of your fingers

no rush, beloved

no rush, beloved

lilies to smell,

honeysuckle to hold

take out your pen

stay, and sketch for awhile

clementines

and a song from the sky

feel the grass underneath

let His words

hidden in the blade

ground you

rays of light

parading your shoulders

freckles on the surface

His favorite detail

can you hear His heart?

can you hear the rhythm

birthed when He thought of you?
