Faith Comes from Hearing: a word by Jessica O.

Faith comes from hearing; specifically hearing the word of God Romans 10:17 What comes out of us is a direct by-product of what we take in. The things we hear and receive have a huge impact on us so it is incredibly important to take in the Words of life. Jesus said he is the bread of life and his words spoken to us and read in the bible are that food.

As we surround ourselves with spoken words of encouragement, life, abundance we produce that fruit because faith takes seed and grows. Walking in faith is when we can create in our subconscious a reality that we may not yet be experiencing, but we live in expectation. Hebrews 11:1 says Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. One way of activating this is visualization. It is an important first step of faith. We should imagine ourselves in the life we want to create because our subconscious can’t distinguish between real and fake.

But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 It is not our behavior but our faith that pleases God because it is through our faith that we first believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek after Him.

Jesus says in Matthew 18:3 that whoever wants to enter the kingdom of God must come with childlike faith. This means we have full trust in our heavenly Father, and we live in a realm of infinite possibilities, because He makes all things possible, and we believe. We must actively keep disappointment from taking root in our hearts. So we must constantly remind ourselves and feed on positivity and the word of God to fuel our faith in a world that will try to choke it out. Stay childlike. It may be easier to believe in the failures of the past rather than believing in the success of the future, but perseverance will produce success.

James 2:20 says faith without works is useless. This is an important step. We must steward our faith with actions which are the natural result of true faith. Don’t fear the failures along the way, but rather view them as things to learn in the journey. With this mindset you are always learning and moving towards success.

Let’s grab hold of and have faith in the words of God, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” If we can hear and have faith and then act on that faith we will see this manifest in our lives. It is a promise from our good Father and He makes all things possible.

This came from reading and processing a book I highly recommend that has so many gems of wisdom in it. Understanding the Matthew Effect by Mark Wilburn.
