Soaring on Wings like Eagles: a word by Jessica O.

One of my delights is watching the birds. They busily fly from here to there, and their song brings my heart joy.  My mind drifts to the Father’s heart as I know He delights so much in these precious little creatures. I am reminded of the verse, Isaiah 40:31 — “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

Awhile back, I read a devotional to my son. It explained that adult eagles will push their young out of the nest, so that their instincts will kick in and make them flap their wings. The adults are right there to catch the young on their back and repeat this exercise until the young strengthen their wings enough to fly. While I am not sure about the accuracy of that article, I love the heart of what we can learn from it. Our loving Father is like the adult eagle. When we trust in Him in the lessons, we can find our strength in Him and trust that He is doing all things for our good and always right there to catch us and encourage us. In the process, we are being strengthened so that we can soar alongside Him and partner with Him when the time comes.
